Class Descriptions

Here at ClubLife, we want to offer fun for everyone!  Our group exercise classes are a great way to meet new friends, and enjoy exercising in a group setting. Here are some of the classes we offer to our members:

Spin (Wendy)  - I have been a very active individual throughout my life (i.e. long distance running, swimming, tennis and cycling).  While looking for an activity that would present a new challenge and improve my well being, I gave Spin a try and quickly became hooked!  The beneits to my overall health and fitness level were immediately evident.  Examples are a decrease in resting heart rate, hypertension and cholesterol levels.  With that being said, my rides are carefully choreographed and energized with lively music.  I believe that a ride should be not only challenging, but within your ability level and above all FUN!

Beginner/Gentle Yoga  (Yvonne) -  I have been practicing Yoga for the last decade and it continues to surprise and enrich me on a daily basis.  I recently completed the rigorous 200 hour Registered Yoga Training at the Sadhana Center for Yoga and Meditation in Hudson, NY.  It is my heartfelft belief and personal experience that Yoga practice has the potential to heal the wounded mind, body and/or spirit.  I humbly wish to share my love and knowledge with others embarking on their own unique journey within the practice of Yoga, Namaste!

Zumba (Amy) - My name is Amy and music, dancing and exercise are my passion!  I am so blessed to have a group fitness exercise class that combines all of those elements.  I have been a complete Zumba fanatic since March of 2009 and became a certified Zumba instructor in June of 2012!  Zumba is in fact "exercise in disguise".  It is so much fun that one hour class is over before you know it and you can burn some serious calories.  Over time, I have lost weight and inches, but the things I gained are far more important ... Zumba is a family :) You will meet the most amazing women and make fantastic friends.  It is a one hour time block for YOU ... to take care of YOU!  One will gain endurance, stamina and muscle; one will become stronger both mentally and physically as well as gain the company of amazing people from an amazing community.

Tabata Boot Camp (Mary) -  Tabata Boot Camp is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) that provides a full body workout incorporating cardio and strength training.  HIIT training alternates between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less intense activity or complete rest.  Tabata provides a variety of exercises for all of your muscle groups, that vary for each class to keep your body guessing!  It is one of the most effective and efficient ways to burn fat and boost aerobic capacity!

Pilates (Sandy)-      My Goal as a Pilates Instructor is to have you so focused on engaging your core and listening to my cues, that you almost forget you are exercising.  Pilates uses controlled and mindful movements that originate from your core. These precise movements are designed to stretch and strengthen muscle without adding bulk. Your posture will improve, your abdominals, back and buttocks will strengthen and become more visibly toned, and your arms and legs will become leaner. Your energy level will dramatically increase, and you will enhance your mental awareness. Chronic back pain and other debilitating physical ailments will decrease significantly as your range of motion and mobility improves.
Growing up and into adulthood I was not very athletic , and frankly I wasn't very fond of exercise. I tried step aerobics, kickboxing , running-  you name it, I tried it. When the instructor was going left , I was going right, and I had no endurance. Then I found Pilates 15 years ago I immediately fell in love- this was something I could do. I could listen to the instructor and know what I had to do; I didn't have to look at them. The mental  component is just as important to me as the physical.  Pilates laid the foundation that allows me today to be an avid CrossFitter, and it inspired me to journey on my path to wellness.
I did my initial training with Brian Hull from Recenter Pilates 6 years ago.  At that time I was interested in learning more about Pilates for my own knowledge and wasn't as focused on teaching. My search for wellness and a more flexible schedule to care for my children; lead me to teaching Pilates. They say when you love your work, it won’t feel like work at all.  I completed my Pilates Mat Certification through Beacon Pilates with Lisa Yakel from Core Pilates in October of 2015.
